Job Description - People and Culture Director

Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced People and Culture Director to lead their Human Resources department. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the organisation's culture, drive talent development, and ensure alignment of people and business objectives. The successful candidate will be responsible for business partnering, compensation, employee engagement, productivity, and performance.

What you'll do:

As People and Culture Director, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our client's organisational culture. You will be directly responsible for leading the Human Resources department, ensuring alignment between people strategies and business objectives. Your role will involve driving talent initiatives that support critical business needs, including attracting, training, developing, and retaining talent within a high-performing culture. You will also work towards deploying appropriate business policies, practices, compensation programs, communication strategies, and training to achieve these results.

  • Function as a trusted adviser and thought partner to senior leadership to drive an accountable, performance-based and purpose-driven culture
  • Provide leadership to ensure that the organisation is successfully driving talent and engagement through organisational design, workforce planning, leadership development, succession planning, compensation and benefits
  • Create strategies to grow, develop and retain the leaders of the business
  • Prepare the organisation for continued growth by building a culture of strong leadership, accountability and operational excellence
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership by providing guidance, aligning HR strategies to achieve business objectives
  • Lead the development of a culture of continuous learning and development aligned to the requirements of the business
  • Develop and implement engagement programs to create an engaging employee experience
  • Advise company leaders on legal implications of HR issues related to discipline and employee grievances
  • Oversee effective administration of company-sponsored and statutory employee benefits
  • Lead ongoing transformation in HRIS systems to build efficiencies on balance with investment
  • Lead the overall strategy and leadership of the Human Resources department
  • Drive talent initiatives in support of critical business needs
  • Ensure HR processes are aligned with the organisation’s focus to operate as a data-driven organisation

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the People and Culture Director (VP) role will bring a wealth of experience in Human Resources within a BPO environment. With over 15 years in the HR function and 10 years in a senior leadership role, you will have comprehensive knowledge of Philippine labour laws, legal trends, and best practices regarding Human Resources management. Your strong problem-solving skills, high degree of learning agility, excellent interpersonal communication skills, and strong business and financial acumen will be key to your success in this role.

  • Experience in global or matrix reporting organisation
  • 15+ years of experience in the HR function within a BPO environment
  • 10+ years in a senior leadership role
  • Comprehensive knowledge in Philippine labour laws, legal trends and best practices regarding Human Resources management is required
  • Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a high degree of learning agility
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills with ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Strong business and financial acumen with ability to interact, challenge and consult with peers and senior leaders
  • Depth and agility; ability to play at various levels within the organisation — from building strategy to ensuring compliance processes in place
