Job Description - Property Legal Officer

Dominic and Sons Realty & Development Corporation

The Legal Officer oversees all legal affairs of the organization, both internal and external legal concerns.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Draft Contract, Correspondence, and other Legal Documents

  • Prepare and review legal documents including but not limited to Deed of Sale, Quitclaims, Contact to Sell, Memorandum of Agreement, and other contracts;
  • Draft letters to various government offices in relation to the business or legal concern of the company;
  • Ensure that the key issues and needs of the company are addressed;
  • Review proposed contract to ensure that the interests of the company is well-protected and sufficiently covered;

Represent the Company

  • Attend meetings with various government offices and to advocate on behalf of the company to said government agencies and other organizations;
  • Work collaboratively with other organizations and networks where appropriate;
  • Liaise with other legal services;

Legal Research

  • Conduct legal research and applicable laws and jurisprudence on various issues;
  • Prepare legal opinion and/or memorandum on matters that need to be addressed by the company;
  • Provide legal advice and brief team on legal issues, potential liabilities and possible courses of actions;

Property Management

  • Perform and monitor compliance and timely submission of legal documents;
  • Review progress of litigation and liaise with and manage external lawyers;
  • Guide management through litigation processes;
  • Perform negotiation and dispute settlement;
  • Appear before the courts and other quasi-judicial bodies to represent the company;
  • Provide administrative and project support involving legal matters;
  • Perform other related functions as may be deemed necessary;

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Law Degree or with at least 2-3rd year law student
  • Preferably with at least 1-year paralegal working experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of all applicable laws, rules and regulations
  • High attention to detail
