Job Description - Proposal Manager

The GSSC CE Function Manager is responsible in managing and providing effective guidance to different global pools of commercial enablement teams rolling under a specific function / program (i.e., graphics, proposals, data, research and program management support) supporting all business areas globally.

He/She is responsible in the day-to-day operations of the team, making sure that resources are utilized efficiently, and distributing workload appropriately. He/She helps the Service Delivery Manager in achieving exceptional client service to the BAs and cost effectiveness.

The GSSC CE Function Manager provides leadership to the Team / Shift leads under him about operational matters and work closely with the country/global counterparts on the defined KPIs and SLAs based on the scope of work.

The GSSC CE Function Manager supports the CE SDM on the strategic opportunities to improve service delivery quality, standardization and automation, implement necessary changes to achieve Global Commercial Enablement vision.

As a member of the CE leadership team, he/she plays a critical role in building capability and standards of the GSSC CE Function and will support the development and sustainability, while collaborating with the other leadership within GSSC and Commercial Enablement in building a cohesive, best in class and excellent delivery services.

Role accountabilities:

Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Establish and communicate a clear vision for the Commercial Enablement global functions and processes across the organization.
  • Collaborate with the different stakeholders in Growth and Commercial Enablement in executing a global strategy for GSSC CE evolution, including associated policies and technology changes, as necessary.
  • Design and implement priority projects and process improvement initiatives to harmonize and standardize processes across all GBAs, countries and business areas, and achieve the goals of operational and cost efficiency.
  • Achieve optimal productivity of the teams ensuring global and dedicated resources are utilized leveraging on available technology, tools and processes.
  • Implement a robust performance management process, working closely with the different stakeholders and / or business leaders of the functions and business unit in setting the target service level agreements. Establish and consistently monitor relevant and robust performance metrics and relevant key performance metrics that create a performance driven and customer focused culture across all teams.
  • Ensure smooth operations for the Commercial Enablement Pursuit and Proposal management support functions adhering to established or to be established service level agreements in terms of efficiency, timeliness and quality.
  • Review and analyze current policies and procedures in order to recommend and implement changes or create them to standardize and optimize activities integrated into shared services;
  • Employing root cause analysis and other problem-solving methodologies for errors and challenges faced to ensure both corrective and preventive actions are implemented
  • Responsible for the overall performance of the team, monitoring their performance, providing timely feedback & assisting them to improve on their identified training needs
  • Translate strategic objectives into SMART clear operational objectives for the team, providing coaching, career development and feedback to team members and providing performance evaluation
  • Lead the maintenance of a strong quality-based controls environment within Commercial Enablement.
  • Stay abreast of process trends and leading practices in the industry to inform strategic direction and process enhancement
  • Performs such other related tasks that may be assigned from time to time

Qualifications & Experience:

The candidate should have the experience managing a diverse and regional or global scope of commercial or sales enablement support, in a captive shared services or business process outsourcing operations environment. The candidate should be able to demonstrate effective organizational facilitation, effective people management skills and the competencies outlined below.

  • Bachelor's Degree in any course, business-related preferred, MBA an advantage
  • At least 10+ years of total experience in Sales and Business Development within a large, multifaceted organization
  • Extensive end to end knowledge and experience of data analytics, research, and program management process in a global capacity
  • Strong customer service mind-set with good motivation and negotiation skills
  • Track record of having effectively managed large projects within Commercial Enablement, Growth, or Business Development community scope
  • Experience in setting the standards for performance for the teams, developing and implementing relevant key performance indicators
  • Strong business process skills with the ability to harmonize, standardize and optimize CE processes thru different process improvement initiatives.
  • Business and strategic problem analytical skills setting the vision for the CE team.
  • Proficient in an ERP platform, and in using Microsoft Office suite.
  • Experience in managing a group of at least 20 people and has managed leaders and high-level individual contributors.
  • High level of problem-solving capabilities, interpersonal skills, with excellent customer orientation mindset
  • Possess strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to develop, mentor and inspire direct reports and influence those without direct management responsibility
  • Competency in change management and understanding human resource issues.
  • Ability to multitask and handle different initiatives and tasks, prioritizing based on relevance and importance.
