Job Description - Construction Project Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Waterline and Pipe Laying Project Manager to oversee and manage our waterline and pipe laying project. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering, project management, and construction, with a focus on water infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning and Execution: Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, and budgets in coordination with the project team. Oversee the execution of waterline and pipe laying projects from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, quality standards, and budgetary constraints.
  • Resource Management: Allocate resources effectively, including labor, materials, and equipment, to ensure efficient project delivery. Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to procure necessary resources and services.
  • Team Leadership: Provide leadership and direction to project teams, including engineers, supervisors, and field staff. Foster a collaborative and productive work environment, promoting safety, accountability, and teamwork.
  • Quality Assurance and Compliance: Implement quality control measures to ensure that construction activities meet industry standards and regulatory requirements. Conduct regular inspections and audits to monitor workmanship, materials, and compliance with project specifications.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and issues that may impact project delivery, and develop strategies to mitigate them. Proactively address challenges and deviations from the project plan, seeking solutions to minimize disruptions and delays.
  • Client Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities regarding project progress, milestones, and deliverables. Foster positive relationships and manage expectations through clear and effective communication.
  • Financial Management: Monitor project costs, expenditures, and financial performance against budgetary targets. Prepare accurate and timely reports on project finances, forecasting future expenses and revenue streams as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Proven experience (25 years) in project management, specifically overseeing waterline and pipe laying projects.
  • Strong technical knowledge of water infrastructure systems, including pipelines, valves, pumps, and treatment facilities.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulations, codes, and standards governing water and wastewater projects.
  • Certification in project management (PMP) and/or professional engineering license is desirable.

Job Type: Full-time

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Evening shift

Experience:

  • Project Management: 1 year (Preferred)
