Job Description - Project Development Associate

Copenhagen Infrastructure Service Company (CISC) – a company working exclusively for the global fund management company Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), is currently looking for a Project Development Associate to join the team in Metro Manila, Philippines.

The role

Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) has very ambitious growth plans globally and in Asia over the coming years and expects to have EUR 100bn under management by 2030 making it one of the largest renewable infrastructure funds in the world.

CIP has identified the Philippines as a key target market in Asia Pacific and is already developing a number of offshore wind projects, as well as pursuing onshore wind and other large-scale renewable energy (RE) projects.

CISC (an affiliate of CIP) will take on “owner’s responsibility” for supporting, originating, developing and executing CIP’s renewable energy projects in the Philippines. A team of business and project development professionals will be required to support this.

The Project Development Associate is responsible to execute development activities required to bring to shovel-ready status, including but not limited to preparing and executing development plans, securing permits and consents, stakeholder management, and managing 3rd party contractors and consultants.

The Project Development Associate will become an integral part of a growing Philippine business development team. We will seek to constantly support and inspire you, while focusing on your learning and personal development.

Responsibilities will further consist of

  • Execute and/or coordinate the execution of development activities from inception to shovel-ready status. Such development activities can include, but not limited to, environmental, technical, financial/commercial, or regulatory-related activities needed for the project.
  • Prepare development plan (including budget and schedule), consolidating inputs form various workstreams; monitor actual progress and expenditures versus approved plans; and continually review the development plan and recommend improvements to adapt to evolving circumstances.
  • Coordinate and monitor the progress of all workstreams.
  • Secure project permits, consents and approvals to bring the projects to shovel-ready status.
  • Prepare list of required permits/approvals/consents to bring the projects to shovel-ready study; prepare execution plan to secure these permits/approval/consent; and execute the plan to achieve project realization.
  • Engage and manage 3rd party contractors, consultants or service providers needed for the development activities, including defining scope of works, deliverables, fees, payment, schedule, and other terms and conditions.
  • Establish, manage and maintain good relations with project partners/proponents, host communities, local government, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure projects are in compliance with CIP’s ESG standards and compliance requirements.
  • Provide continuing support to the projects during construction and operations.
  • Assist in preparing presentation slides or internal reports required by internal processes, including seeking approvals or providing project information or updates.
  • Manage admin-related tasks, including proper land documentation safekeeping and controls.
  • Perform other tasks that may be assigned by the direct manager.

We look for the following in a candidate

  • 4-8 years working experience in business or project development of power projects , renewable energy projects, or other infrastructure projects.
  • Graduate of any bachelor’s degree.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to document project information and risks in a concise manner.
  • Fluent in English and Filipino.
  • Ability to work well within a lean team and manage different workstreams simultaneously.
  • Hands-on approach, with the ability to take initiative and work proactively.
  • Meticulous with details, well organized, and able to learn quickly and independently with strong analytical skills.
