Estimator (Australian Construction Systems) - Full Time Work from Home
We are looking for a detail-oriented Construction Estimator who has a strong background in Australian housing construction estimating, completing material take offs and well versed in quantity surveying. Ideal candidate for this role should be able to translate projects requirements into concrete figures with ease and adhere to the allocated budget without compromising high standards.
This role supports our Global operations and can be performed from anywhere in the Philippines - with the occasional office drop-in. Before and after current COVID restrictions, Unient supports predominately remote working arrangements for reliable professionals.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Analyse blueprints and other documentation to prepare cost estimates for Australian housing construction projects.
- Liaise with senior estimator to clarify projects specifications and requirements.
- Draft proposals that detail envisaged materials, costs, and time frames.
- Put together and maintain a list of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors.
- Advise on tendering procedures, examine tenders, recommend tender awards, and conduct negotiations.
- Prepare purchase orders and send to a list of relevant trades.
- Confer and liaise with engineers, architects, contractors, and subcontractors and perform risk assessment if there are any changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
- Sending purchase orders PO to subcontractors and suppliers.
- Responsible for writing Scope of Work.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:
- Knowledge of PlanSwift / Blue Beam estimation tool.
- Knowledge of Data build software (will provide access to this software).
- Knowledge of creating a Bill of materials.
- Understanding of Procurement process.
- Understanding and using CRM.
- Familiarity with construction best practices, general building codes and various building types.
- Has knowledge of relevant technical and non-technical documents.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Candidate must possess a Bachelor’s/College Degree in Civil Engineering or any related field.
- Demonstrated experience of about 5 years as Construction Estimator with strong understanding of construction Australian systems.
- Ability to forecast the cost of high-ticket involved building developments.
- Project management experience is a plus.
- Dependable, conscientious, and well-spoken.
- Experience in supporting Australian clients is a requirement.
