Who are we looking for
We're looking for a Senior Renewables Engineer - Wind to join within the PH Energy Group ensuring consistent, effective, and successful delivery of renewable energy projects primarily the conduct of wind resource assessment (WRA), technology selection, and micro-siting of potential wind sites for both on-shore and off-shore.
Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in :
- Feasibility studies, conceptual and detailed design for power generation clients across Philippines and Australia.
- Able to design, review, and oversee wind resource measurement campaigns including identifying measurement locations and equipment selection (met mast. RSD, etc.)
- Directly reports to and gets day-to-day instructions from the Team Leader
- Has a strong background in onshore wind development, site selection, project development, and in salient features of a typical Wind Farm setup
- Strong familiarisation in wind resource analysis including conducting EYAs, micro-siting, and optimisation of turbine layout
- Background in off-shore wind is considered an advantage
- Be able to conduct site visits or be assigned on-site when necessary, during construction, and installation of WTGs
- Conduct continuous research to keep abreast with the latest trends in technological advancement
- Develop strong knowledge of GHD systems and procedures.
What you will bring to the team:
- Minimum bachelor's degree qualifications in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related discipline as appropriate) with a minimum of five to ten years of design experience in onshore Wind development. (WRA, EYA, Micro siting, etc)
- Wind resource assessment experience and proficiency in: e.g. WindPro, WAsP, windfarmer, openwind, windographer, CFD (e.g. WindSim), and resource detailed data analysis
- Proven experience in wind farm engineering, design, and development
- Experience in a consulting environment is an advantage, including ability to prepare technical reports and write and winning work proposals
- Experience with international standards for wind turbines, resource monitoring programs, and wind data measurement and analysis
Desired experience in:
- Wind Resource and Energy Yield Assessment (EYA)
- Wind farm layout design and optimisation, technology selection
- Turbine Noise and Shadow Flicker modelling
- Wind farm operational Assessments.
- Power Curve Verification
- Strong analytical skills and knowledge of statistical theories related to probabilities and data analysis.
- Proven ability to prepare concise, bankable (or with reliance), easy-to-read, and professional technical reports.
- An appreciation of current trends and technological development in the wind industry
- Focus on Client service.
Experience considered an advantage:
- Offshore wind experience
- Construction and installation experience/exposure to wind farm project
- Combined experience in resource assessment, design, and construction
- With Certificate on climb up/down on WTG for inspection
- Due Diligence and Advisory experience
- Techno-Economic Modelling (e.g. HOMER)
- Solar Energy Yield Assessment (e.g. PVsyst)
This job offer can be based either in Makati, Cebu, or Quezon City depending on your home base/location.
