Senior Technician (Apparel)

Position Overview

Senior Technician is a supervisory role to assist in overseeing all-rounded technical operations by managing and coaching the team to provide prompt advice and support to the clients and vendors.

He/she is required to have strong technical knowledge in sampling, fitting and pattern checking, through which he/she is able to demonstrate strong interpersonal and leading capability to work closely with various stakeholders - internal coordination with merchandising teams and tight liaison with clients/vendors externally.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist the Manager to manage the team to issue tech pack, review fit and comments for the development and production samples
• Identify the actual fit issues, dig out the problems behind and provide concrete resolutions proactively to correct detective samples with factories
• Adjust or create the pattern whenever necessary
• Liaise internally with merchandising teams, to provide prompt advice and support in order to propose corrective actions

Job Requirements (Education / Experience / Skill-set)

• Diploma or above in Textile / Clothing or related discipline
• At least 10 years' solid experience in garment trading field; experience in USA market on ladies' fashion is highly preferable
• Sound knowledge in garment sewing construction, pattern making, grading and fit adjustment
• Good command of both written and spoken English
• Proficient in MS Word and Excel
• Ability to lead and coach the team to ensure prompt and timely deliverables
• Strong interpersonal skills to communication across different levels of counter-parts
• Able to work under pressure to meet tight deadline
• Occasional travel is required
