Job Description - Accountant (Remote / Work from home)

Objective / Purpose of the Role : The objective of a company Accountant is to manage the financial activities of the organization effectively. This includes tasks such as recording transactions, preparing financial statements, analyzing financial data, ensuring compliance with regulations, providing strategic financial advice, and contributing to the overall financial health and success of the company.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Financial Record Keeping : Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records. This includes recording transactions, updating ledgers, and reconciling accounts regularly to ensure accuracy.
  • Financial Reporting: Generating financial statements such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements on a regular basis. These reports will provide insights into the company's financial health and performance.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborating with management to develop annual budgets and financial forecasts. Monitoring actual financial performance against budgeted amounts and analyzing variances to identify areas of concern or improvement.
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable Management : Managing accounts payable by processing invoices, issuing payments to vendors, and ensuring timely settlement of outstanding balances. Handling accounts receivable by invoicing customers, tracking payments, and following up on overdue accounts.
  • Payroll Processing: Review and calculate Contractors Service Fees , taxes, and other deductions accurately. Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Tax Compliance: Preparing and filing various tax returns, including income tax and sales tax in compliance to Philippine Taxation, Hong Kong Taxation & US Tax regulations . This includes Philippine BMBE regulations and related requirements. Updates on the changes to tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance and minimize tax liabilities.
  • Financial Analysis : Conducting financial analysis to assess the company's financial performance, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvement. Analyzing key financial ratios and metrics to evaluate profitability, liquidity, and solvency.
  • Internal Controls : Establishing and maintaining internal controls to safeguard company assets, prevent fraud, and ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial information.
  • Audit Support : Assisting with external audits or reviews by providing documentation, answering auditor inquiries, and ensuring compliance with audit requirements.
  • Financial Planning and Strategy : Providing financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making. Participating in strategic planning processes and offering financial expertise to help achieve company goals.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring compliance with relevant financial regulations, standards, and reporting requirements imposed by regulatory bodies and governing authorities.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identifying opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains within the accounting function. Implementing best practices and leveraging technology to streamline workflows and enhance productivity.
  • Other General Accounting & Finance activities

Qualification requirements:

Education : Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance . A Master's degree or Certified Public Accountant is an advantage

Relevant Experience : 3 years in Accounting and Finance

Required Skills: 

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle, as well as advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Familiarity with relevant accounting principles, regulations, and standards.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills in interpreting financial data, identify trends, and make recommendations based on the analysis.
  • Attention to Detail: Given the importance of accuracy in financial reporting to avoid errors and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Communication Skills: Professional interaction with colleagues, clients, and external stakeholders both verbal and written English language.
  • Ethical Standards: Integrity and ethical conduct are essential specially in handling sensitive financial information. A demonstration of high ethical standards and professionalism.
  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Handling professionally complex financial issues that require creative problem-solving skills to resolve effectively.
  • Time Management : Meeting deadlines and being able to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently is essential.
