Job Description - Payroll Analyst - Finance Services

Who are we looking for

We're looking for a Finance Services Payroll Analyst to perform proactive support to the Finance Services team by assisting the Payroll Team Leader with project based tasks to improve and standardise the Payroll function. This role will be for a fixed term contract of six (6) months.

To ensure that tasks/transactions are processed in an accurate, timely and cost-effective manner in adherence to GHD applicable limits of authority, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

  • Support the FSS function by undertaking the duties assigned. Tasks will be assigned in adherence to separation of duties guidelines based on workload requirements
  • Document payroll processes, procedures, and policies, as well as maintaining records for auditing purposes
  • Review and analse payroll data, identify trends, discrepancies, and anomalies and for relevant insights
  • Work in partnership with other GHD employees and stakeholders (as required) to respond to enquiries and requests in a professional manner and within the payroll department SLA
  • Provide business analyst expertise to support the delivery of BAU Payroll Services and Payroll Improvement projects
  • Provide payroll expertise to determine and document business requirements for system and process improvements
  • Preparation of all employee tax obligations and returns, including PAYG/PAYE, payroll taxes, and superannuation/kiwisaver schemes, and being familiar with ATO or NZ IRD requirements and filing processes
  • Develop and document test plans, review test outcomes with the Service Delivery and Operations teams and support the delivery of knowledge sessions once any process/system changes move into the Delivery teams
  • Analyse proposed changes via impacts assessments, determine the benefits to be realised, measure, monitor & update where deliverables change
  • Preparation, investigation and management of ad hoc payroll reconciliations and monthly payroll balance sheet reconciliations

What you will bring to the team:

  • Extensive knowledge of various payroll/HRIS software and systems, such as ADP Globalview, SAP or Oracle used for upstream and downstream processes
  • Knowledge of local, state and federal payroll regulations, including tax, superannuation, and reporting requirements
  • Proficiency in documenting payroll processes, procedures and policies, as well as maintaining records for auditing purposes
  • Knowledge of including their functionalities and configurations
  • Experience working on projects as well as handling operational requests from business
  • Strong business partner with an agile and growth mindset who is looking to take on a new challenge that requires expertise in driving and delivering results and the ability to negotiate and influence cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Effective communicator fluent with experience supporting process development and documentation tasks for all types of stakeholders, including the technical teams
  • Experience in standard Microsoft Office applications.Intermediate to advance skills in Excel and Word applications
  • Aptitude for numerical work and problem solving
  • High degree of detail and accuracy in all areas of work

Work schedule: Monday to Friday - 7:00 am to 4:00 pm This job offer can be based either in Makati or Quezon City , depending on your home base / location.
