Senior Scientist (R&D)

Laboratory & Technical Services (Science & Technology)

• Provides technical leadership and formulates strategies and plans to ensure successful completion of new product research and development projects.

• Working closely with Marketing, Consumer Insights, and Sourcing teams, recommends formulation

blueprints and/or working prototypes applicable to the product design specifications.

• Constantly explores new materials/ingredients and technologies for possible application to existing

products and future new products.

• Develops least cost alternatives to existing formulations while ensuring the quality is comparable to or

even better than existing formulations.

• Performs laboratory experiments and investigations to determine product stability,

performance/efficacy against benchmarks, and acceptability among target consumers, while being

mindful of speed of delivery.

• Works closely with partners in R&D and Supply Chain (Procurement, Contract Manufacturing, Supply

Planning) to conduct plant trials and validations, as needed.

• As the subject matter expert, applies knowledge to promote innovation and teaches and trains junior

scientists.

Qualification:

•Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy with PRC License; master’s degree holders will have an advantage.

•Candidates with background in Biochemistry, Biology, and related health care fields may be considered provided they have a distinguished track record of developing and/or commercializing new ingredients or new technologies for health care products.

• With 7 to 10 years relevant work experience with demonstrated ability to lead project teams, having undertaken research and development specifically in health/dietary supplements, herbal ingredients, and nutritional products.

• Knowledgeable in all aspects of Health Care product R&D, highly creative, has keen attention to details,

motivated, can work independently and is a good team player.

• Proficient in Project Management and able to perform multiple tasks within a given timeline.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills, research and report-writing skills, analytical skills, and relevant technical skills.

• Knowledge of regulatory requirements will be an advantage
