BIM Manager Job Description
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Leads BIM staff: Specialists and Modelers and monitor direct reports daily output.
- Apply technical expertise and hands on project experience with BIM technology in the oversight
of BIM projects.
- Support project BIM mobilization activities to client or project site.
- Perform quality check on model deliverables to ensure compliance with client’s standards.
- Supports in use of models for design review, change management, estimating, and
commissioning and presentation with client.
- Provide oversight of model coordination process in design and construction.
- Ensure that project teams use client approved systems for managing BIM process, files and
submittals correctly.
- Provide oversight of As-built model development and delivery process.
- Supports a team, ensuring that projects run smoothly and project information models are
delivered on time.
- Keeping up to date with advancement in building technology.
- Leading meetings to identify project task and resolve issues.
- Supporting career development, coaching & mentoring of a team or staff
EDUCATION, TECHNICAL CAPABILITY AND CAREER:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture or related trades in the design and construction
industry
• Minimum 12 years’ experience using BIM applications on projects gained from a Design
Engineering industry; at least 6 years of which are on people management role.
• Demonstrated expertise in industry standard BIM applications, such as Autodesk Revit and
Navisworks.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and client
presentations skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-based, fast-paced environment who enjoy working in a
dynamic, fast-paced collaborative environment in which innovation and initiative is encouraged
and rewarded.
• Experience with web-based and mobile BIM collaboration technologies, Project Management
software a plus
