Job Title: Data Scientist

Salary Range: 1500 to 2500 USD/month

Responsibilities

• Data Analysis for Strategic Decisions: Employ sophisticated data analysis and modeling techniques to guide strategic decisions in mergers and acquisitions. 
• Market Research and Analysis: Perform comprehensive research and analysis of the water infrastructure industry across North America, emphasizing Western Canada and Florida, to identify prime opportunities and potential acquisition targets. 
• Business Development Insights: Deliver data-informed recommendations to support business development strategies, concentrating on uncovering upcoming procurement opportunities, tracking trends, and contractual awards, with a focus on high-margin, recurring revenue streams, key stakeholders, and influential industry connections for business growth. 
• Growth Strategy Development: Craft and continuously update our strategy for mergers, acquisitions, and revenue generation, aligning with evolving market conditions and organizational objectives. 
• Influencer and Partnership Identification: Investigate and pinpoint key influencers and prospective partners in the industry, formulating strategies for engagement and collaboration. 
• Agile Reporting and Communication: In alignment with our agile methodology, which includes daily scrum meetings and structured monthly cycles of planning, execution, review, and retrospection, the role requires active participation in all phases. Exceptional skills in creating and presenting thorough, polished, and detailed reports are essential, as these reports may be utilized at the board level.

Requirements

• Industry-Relevant Data Science Experience: Demonstrated experience as a Data Scientist, preferably with exposure to industrial business sectors. A background in hydrogeology, engineering, or geology will be highly beneficial.
• Business Strategy and Development Acumen: A solid foundation in business strategy and development, coupled with the capacity to convert data insights into actionable strategic recommendations. 
• Expertise in Data Analysis: Advanced proficiency in various data analysis tools and methodologies. 
• Independent Initiative and Adaptability: Exceptional ability to learn quickly, adapt to new challenges, and independently drive projects to completion. We value high execution, self-sufficiency, and the capacity to 'pull your own weight'. 
• Communication Excellence: Outstanding communication skills with the ability to articulate complex data insights clearly and effectively to stakeholders who may not have a technical background. 
• Educational Credentials: A bachelor’s or master’s degree in data science, business, or a related field is essential. Possession of an MBA would be an advantage, but not more than an effort and attitude.

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Experience in the water infrastructure industry, particularly knowledge of the Canadian market (not required).
• Leadership experience or demonstrated potential to lead a team. 
• Ability to self-manage and work independently while effectively managing a diverse team.
