Apex North--an independent business coaching practice that serves growth-minded CEOs and their leadership teams--is looking to grow and expand its marketing team. We're seeking an independent contractor to fill a newly created Content Manager role. The person who fills this role will manage the efforts of a small virtual global marketing team to implement a marketing plan and content calendar, with the goal of translating the practice's unique voice into consistent marketing content that powers business growth.
Job type: Independent contractor
Hours: Part-time; 5-20 hours/week
Location: Virtual, anywhere global
Work schedule: Flexible hours, some U.S. CST workday hours required for meetings
Language: English as a first language desired, high fluency in English required
Your Responsibilities:
Project management: Coordinate content creation (website, article, social media, email) across all team members to achieve the practice's marketing strategy;
You will need to direct and oversee the efforts of each of the following team members, and provide them with explicit direction to ensure that the overall marketing strategy is translated by you, into action by the team, with you providing the specific briefs and ensuring adherence to a timeline and:execution.
Your team will consist of:
- Virtual Admin (Tasks: LinkedIn posting, admin, minor creative, miscellaneous marketing executional tasks)
- Copywriter (Tasks: blog writing, LinkedIn content creation, newsletter writing)
- Videographer (Tasks: YouTube, website and short social media videos)
- Graphic Designer (Tasks: website and higher-value creative tasks)
- Database/Research Specialist (Tasks: building database of core clients for outbound outreach)
Your direct tasks will include:
- SEO services: Perform keyword research and competitor analysis for long-form content (website and blog articles)
- Content direction and creation: Research and source content (includes interviewing the practice owner); create content briefs and outlines; craft content as needed
- Editorial tasks: Review, edit and proofread content created by other team members
- Publication and distribution: Ensure the timely publication and distribution of content across targeted channels
- Content repurposing: Identify ways to retrofit content for different platforms
- Content management: Organize and manage content inventory; keep published content and content inventory up to date
- Content analytics: Monitor marketing analytics; report back to practice owner and marketing coach; use data to inform future content efforts
- Strategy support: Work closely with the practice owner and marketing coach to devise online and offline marketing strategies

Top-Tier Candidates Who Apply Will Have:
Education and/or certifications in content marketing, content strategy and/or SEO
Previous work experience in roles that required project management, content oversight, high-volume content creation, and related content marketing efforts
