Position Summary:

G.U. Engineering Solutions, Inc. is seeking a skilled and motivated Full-Time Welder, proficient in Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) and Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), to join our dedicated team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of welding techniques, able to produce high-quality welds consistent with industry standards, while adhering to safety protocols and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

- Welding Operations: Perform SMAW and GTAW welding on various metals including, but not limited to, carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum, following project specifications and blueprints.

- Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough inspections of welds to ensure compliance with the required specifications, tolerances, and quality standards. Perform necessary adjustments to techniques and equipment to resolve issues rapidly.

- Equipment Maintenance: Regularly maintain and troubleshoot welding equipment to ensure maximum efficiency and longevity. Report any malfunctions or repair needs to the supervisor promptly.

- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Participate in safety training and workshops regularly.

- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other welders, fabricators, and support staff to ensure projects are completed on time and to specifications.

Qualifications:

- Education: High school diploma or equivalent completion of a welding program from an accredited institution is preferred.

- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in SMAW and GTAW welding in a manufacturing or fabrication environment. Experience with other welding processes (MIG, Flux-Cored) is a plus.

- Skills:

- Proficient in using welding tools and equipment (arc welders, TIG welders, cutting torches).

- Strong mechanical skills and understanding of welding principles.

- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to produce quality work efficiently.

- Ability to troubleshoot welding problems and implement solutions quickly.

- Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.

Physical Requirements:

- Stamina to work long hours in potentially challenging environments (heat, noise, and confined spaces).

- Good vision and coordination to perform precise welding tasks.
