Job Description - AR Healthcare Operations Manager

  • Provide leadership and guidance to offshore RCM Partners and their teams, reviewing processes and offering recommendations for operational improvement
  • Collaborate on project work for all functions with offshore and ensure adherence to timely completion guidelines
  • Maintain or surpass team productivity and quality standards
  • Partner with the Vice President to analyze and communicate the economic impact of upstream revenue cycle errors resulting in denials, and implement effective corrective initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities

Operational Management

  • Plan, organize, and oversee the operations of assigned Offshore Partners, ensuring timely completion of RCM-related tasks
  • Team up with the Vice President of Revenue Cycle Services to establish and manage performance targets, aiming to reduce offshore staffing to meet the 50 FTE threshold and manage all backlogs up to date
  • Provide ongoing updates on billing regulations, industry trends, and pathway updates, promoting process compliance
  • Focus on maximizing cash collections, minimizing A/R inventories, and reducing write-offs/non-collectibles adjustments
  • Lead the AR Follow-Up team, conducting routine productivity and quality reviews
  • Monitor and maintain follow-up quality and productivity standards, identifying and addressing denial trends
  • Develop a monthly executive QA tracker for offshore performance and provide regular updates to the VP (Offer bi-weekly progress and trend analysis report)
  • Review and approve monthly AR invoices and reports for submission to the VP
  • Design pathways for offshore functions in partnership with team managers and directors
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Personnel Management and Professional Development

  • Administer management and supervisory duties concerning staff education, training, performance evaluation, and productivity monitoring
  • Conduct interviews, recruit, train, evaluate, and mentor subordinate staff, as necessary
  • Establish and uphold quality control initiatives, including comprehensive individual performance assessments
  • Orient new hires and offer ongoing learning and advancement opportunities related to assigned function areas
  • Handle patients' protected health information (PHI) in strict accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in managing and leading physician business office/ professional services CBO or MSO staff at a supervisory level or higher
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Must be reliable, responsible, goal-oriented, and flexible
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Exhibited integrity in handling sensitive and confidential information
  • Capable of maintaining poise, composure, and confidence in stressful or high-pressure situations
