Job Description - Property Management Associate

Zuma Housing is a co-living accommodation provider that caters to young professionals, interns, and students. Job Description:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Property Management Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will have some prior experience in property management or a related field, and will be comfortable managing tasks independently. The Property Management Associate will assist in managing a portfolio of rental properties, and will work closely with the Property Manager and other team members to ensure that all properties are well-maintained and profitable. The successful candidate will be a reliable and professional individual with excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage vendor coordination including scheduling, pricing, and quality control.
  • Resolve maintenance issues by coordinating with vendors and residents.
  • Assist in remote unit setup, ensuring move-in ready apartments for new tenants.
  • Process and handle billing responsibilities including rent, utilities, and other charges.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the property management system.
  • Communicate effectively with vendors, tenants, and property management team members.
  • Ensure compliance with rental policy, state real estate laws, and regulations.
  • Work with property management team to ensure a safe and comfortable living environment.Assist in managing rental properties, including advertising available units, screening potential tenants, and collecting rent payments.
  • Respond to tenant inquiries and complaints, and coordinate maintenance and repair requests.
  • Perform regular inspections of rental properties to identify any issues or potential problems.
  • Maintain accurate records of tenant accounts, expenses, receipts and other financial data.
  • Work with the Property Manager and other team members to develop and implement policies and procedures for managing rental properties effectively.
  • Provide excellent customer service to tenants, property owners, and vendors.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations related to rental properties and property management.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years in property management preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Flexibility and adaptability
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to proactively solve problems
  • Working knowledge of real estate law and leasing practices
  • Experienced AppFolio user is a PLUS!
