Job Description - Data Entry Specialist

Schedule: 30 - 40 hours a week, Eastern Time Benefits:  Remote, Paid time-off, Weekends off

Job Summary

As a Data Entry Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our data entry processes. We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented professional who consistently delivers exceptional results within set deadlines. Your primary responsibility will be to input and organize information while maintaining data integrity, ultimately facilitating seamless healthcare delivery and accurate patient records.

  • Perform data entry tasks with a high level of efficiency, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Input and maintain accurate and up-to-date patient information in our database.
  • Organize and categorize data according to established guidelines and procedures.
  • Conduct regular data quality checks to ensure accuracy, completeness, and data integrity. Basic troubleshooting skills to resolve common technical issues or willingness to learn.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to resolve data discrepancies or issues.
  • Learn and proficiently utilize the software systems necessary for efficient data entry and management and maintain data privacy and security protocols to protect patient information.

Requirements

Reliable wired internet connection with a speed of at least 25 Mbps.

Computer/laptop with a minimum of Intel Core i3 processor or equivalent. Having a dual screen for increased productivity is a plus.

Operating system: Windows 10 or macOS (latest version) with regular updates.

RAM: Minimum 4 GB, preferably 8 GB or more for smoother multitasking.

Hard drive: At least 128 GB of free storage space for software and data.

Functioning webcam and microphone for clear communication.

Updated antivirus software to ensure data security and protection against cyber threats. Having a VPN is preferred but not required.

Reliable backup systems for electricity and internet outages are in place.

Skills and Qualifications

Proven experience in data entry, transcription, or a similar role, demonstrating professionalism and attention to detail.

A typing speed of at least 50 wpm and the ability to accurately handle large volumes of data efficiently.

Proficiency in computer systems, including data entry software, spreadsheets, and databases with the ability to quickly learn new systems and tools.

Strong organizational skills to manage and categorize data effectively.

Ability to work independently and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.

Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members.

Prior experience in remote and virtual positions or healthcare accounts, and familiarity with data privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA) is preferred.
