Reporting to the General Manager, the Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) and Facility Officer is responsible for the management of local SHE systems and business continuity management in accordance with local legislation and SHE policy. Also responsible for records management and overall facility management that includes office building, security, space management, company vehicles (Fleet Management) and all these efforts are to protect company assets as well as provide safe working environments. To achieve the above- the SHE & Facility Officer leads the development and implementation of local SHE initiatives in partnership with Roche Leadership Teams.
Key responsibilities include
SHE management
Support and advice site seniors and line management on SHE-related topics, issues and concerns.
Leads and facilitates the emergency management team, and prepares/maintains the SHE handbook as required by the Roche Group SHE Guidelines.
Monitor legal compliance for all aspects of SHE and ensure that any audit is undertaken and corrective actions formally reviewed by Cluster lead and GM.
Develop/provide SHE trainings for ALL employees and SHE management for critical service providers
Makes provision for improving SHE system and process in operating budgets including cost of SHE related expenditures
Conduct periodic SHE inspections, report critical SHE situations and leads the Business Continuity Management Team
Establish and maintain contacts with the local SHE authorities, professional organizations, scientific bodies and the public
Facility management
Incorporate recycling program in facility, adopt energy saving initiatives in facility management, manage office asset and infrastructure documentation and ensure office renovation/refurbishment according to Group SHE guideline.
Consult and be involved in transactions for lease of offices/labs and support & advise company/site senior management, line management and employees in all security matters (physical/access, personnel, information and product related).
Support the organization for compliance with legal security regulations and with Roche security requirements (K19), monitor & assess the local security exposure and propose the necessary preventive measures.
Establish and maintain close contacts with law enforcement authorities/police and professional organizations and associations.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/SHE/related security studies or professional certifications (preferred).
6+ years’ experience on managing SHE programs, audit experience is required with experience in working with local regulatory authorities in Safety & Security matters (preferred).
Possess a strong passion to work in tasks related to Safety & Security issues and good project management skills
Team player with strong interpersonal skills, capable of working within a globally diverse team.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and a confident leader to manage the senior leadership team’s expectations.
For a site in a high-risk country (K19/Annex 1), you must have at least 2 years of professional experience in the security field in a high-risk country as well.
You will also serve as the Records Management Lead; some demonstrated experience in the same is required.
Demonstrate a natural authority but should be a team player- accepted by staff and the leadership team at the same time.
Member of the Emergency Management Team and Affiliate Governance Committee, and participates in the EMT and AGC meetings.
