Job Description - Accounting Generalists

COMPANY BACKGROUND

Rublin Hotel Cebu is a business and leisure hotel located right in the center of Cebu City, boasting 30 guest rooms. Our team stands by excellent service and genuine hospitality. A sense of community is a must among hotel staff members.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

- Have a Bachelor's degree preferably in Accounting/Accounting-related/Business Course

- At least 1 year work experience in the admin/back office or accounting dept in preferably a Hospitality/Tourism-related industry.

- Must have excellent written and verbal communication and comprehension skills in English, Tagalog, Cebuano

- Must be computer literate, able to prioritize and multitask efficiently, good time management skills

- Must be highly detail-oriented, neat, and organized

- Must be able to coordinate and communicate with people professionally, efficiently and effectively

- Able to complete a high volume of tasks and projects with little or no guidance

- Able to maintain a high level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information

- Flexible whether working with a team or working alone in achieving goals

- Project management experience is a plus

- 5 years working experience in an accounting department in any type of industry

- Preferably has worked in a hospitality industry

- Preferably with finance related working experience is a plus

- Knows prime software PMS

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

ACCOUNTING

1. Processes accounts payable to suppliers, partners, and approved third-party persons.

2. Processes accounts receivables from revenue sources, OTA, TA, and other partners.

3. Validate and transmit checks to Front Office for Check Releasing to suppliers

4. Sorts revenues, purchases, and expenses accordingly

5. Schedules depreciation expense for proper accounting thereof

6. Records revenue, purchase, and expense transactions precisely and accurately

7. Generate accurate accounting, audit, and budgeting reports for management decisions

8. Propose annual budget per department based on historical data and company goals

9. Follows proper accounting procedures set by Rublin Hotel standards while applying, integrating standard accounting practices to suit the hotel operations.

AUDIT

1. Auditing of inventory for the purpose of monitoring and control

- Hotel Supplies

- Office Supplies

- Fixed Assets

2. Auditing of room sales and other sales

3. Auditing of daily transactions and daily cashier’s reports

4. Auditing of inventories, purchases and expenses, and depreciations

5. Auditing of other transactions related but not limited to hotel accounting operations

OTHER

1. Perform clerical duties such as photocopying, filing, scanning, etc, as necessary.

2. Answer, screen, and forwards incoming phone calls to the back office as necessary

3. Ensure back office is clean, neatly organized, and disinfected after each work day

4. Greet hotel guests using the Rublin Hotel greeting standard and add a personalization

5. Greet returnees, regulars, VIPs, VVIPs by name

6. Receive, sort, forward, or safekeep documents appropriately according to Rublin Hotel standard back office policies and procedures.

7. Carry out any extra work assigned by Immediate Superior/Hotel Manager, related but not limited to hotel accounting operations.

8. Suggests initiative to improve accounting & audit procedures and techniques to reach company goals and further company growth.

7. Audit on inventory management, room sales, cashier reports, other hotel transactions (yes)
