Job Description - Cluster Director of Sales

The role:

As Cluster Director of Sales your pivotal role involves actively driving sales to meet personal quotas, while also overseeing and inspiring the sales team to excel. You'll ensure that all sales targets are met and lead efforts to uncover, prospect, and secure group and individual business in line with our annual Marketing Plan. As a senior leader, you'll implement and uphold all sales and marketing Standard Operating Procedures, ensuring consistency and effectiveness. Furthermore, you'll assume responsibility for the Commercial Department in the absence of the Commercial Director, ensuring seamless operations at all times.

Key Areas of Responsibilites:

  • Build trust and confidence with stakeholders, Hotel Executive Committee, Peers, Ownership, Head Office, and hotel team.
  • Recruit, select and familiarize sales department personnel ensuring proper training of is provided.
  • Foster a cooperative and harmonious working climate conducive to maximum employee morale and productivity.
  • Negotiate and achieve maximum revenue/profit potential while satisfying client's needs.
  • Assume the responsibility for leading and directing the hotel's group and individual room sales activity.
  • Actively sell and manage his/her key accounts and territory and achieve personal quota.
  • Demonstrate leadership by setting the example of utilizing approved methods of handling sales accounts.
  • Enhance the hotel's community image and stay abreast of the competition, new developments and sales methods and techniques in the hotel industry to maximize sales and profitability.
  • Assist the Director of sales and marketing in establishing and directing the development of annual sales goals; ensures goals and incentive programs are fully understood and implemented.
  • Director the reporting and appraising of results against planned objectives; coordinates sales staff activities; take appropriate action to maximize sales and affect need periods.
  • Establish group room night and average rate goals based on marketing plan and overall objectives.
  • Manager transient and group room commitments to ensure proper market mix.
  • Manage function space allocation for group and catering bookings based on established guidelines and procedures.
  • Prepare reports as requested to develop a more informative data base for improved management decision making and critical evaluation of work activities.
  • Coordinate special sales activities, promotions, sales trips, trade shows, etc.
  • Perform all responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner, following established policy and projecting a favorable image of Red Sea Global Hospitality to achieve objectives, public recognition and acceptance.

Person Specification:

  • Reading, writing and oral proficiency in the required language: English and Arabic (preferred)
  • Bachelor degree; preferred Marketing or Hospitality emphasis.
  • Previous experience as a DOS in a Luxury Hotel or Resort.
  • Significant, relevant experience as it relates to the job description.
  • Good personal & business references.
  • Working knowledge of computer systems and software.
