Job Description - Accounting Clerk

Accounting Clerk (Remote)  POSITION OVERVIEW: 

Stayable is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated individual to join our team as a Remote Accounting Clerk. This position offers an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain valuable experience in the hospitality industry while contributing to the financial success of our organization. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, a keen eye for accuracy, and a proactive attitude toward problem-solving. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Accounts Payable and Receivable: Manage invoices, process payments, and ensure timely collections. 
  • Expense Management: Review and reconcile expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies. 
  • Bank Reconciliation: Conduct monthly bank reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records. 
  • General Ledger Maintenance: Assist with maintaining the general ledger, including journal entries and account reconciliations. 
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare various financial reports and statements as needed, providing insights into the company's financial performance. 
  • Assist with Audits: Support audit processes by providing necessary documentation and assisting auditors with inquiries. 
  • Vendor Management: Communicate with vendors regarding payment inquiries and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner. 
  • Ad Hoc Projects: Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned by management, contributing to the overall success of the finance team. 

     

REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred. 
  • Proven experience in an accounting or finance role, with a strong understanding of basic accounting principles. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero). 
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping. 
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. 
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote work environment. 
  • Prior experience in the hospitality industry is a plus but not required. 
  • Able to work in the US Eastern time zone. 

DETAILS: This is a part-time (20 hrs per week) role with the possibility of converting to a full-time position based on performance and business needs.
