JOB DESCRIPTION:

Under the direct supervision of the Division Chief, will be in-charge to provide technical assistance on the Psychological Services of the DSWD Field Offices (FOs) and Centers and Residential Care Facilities (CRCFs) nationwide.

Functions and Responsibilities:

  1. Provides technical assistance to Field Offices (FO) and center psychologists and psychometricians

  2. Monitors Psychological service (assessment, intervention, etc.) in DSWD FOs centers and residential care facilities

  3. Develops, recommends, modifies and/or enhances measures, policy/ies, programs or guidelines, standards relative to Psychological Service delivery in DSWD-managed centers and residential care facilities

  4. Assesses the needs of Psychological Service in FOs, centers and residential care facilities relative to fund augmentation, assessment tools and capacity building/training, Psychological resources and recommend allocation of appropriate resources such as fund, supplies, tools and equipment for the efficient and delivery of Psychological Service

  5. Serves as resource person along Psychological perspective during intervention/rehabilitation team meetings/case conferences, capacity-building activities

  6. Provide inputs, actions, recommendations at the local/interregional matching conferences for alternative family care placement (foster, adoption)

  7. Conducts interventions, diffusion, stress debriefing, short term therapies, conflict resolution, conflict management on enhancement of client self-awareness, interpersonal conflicts/relations and conducts psychoeducation upon the request/s of FOs , centers, RCFs and LGUs

  8. Conducts psychological assessment to cases referred to the Central Office and prepares report on assessment conducted as well as performs such as form of resource augmentation to requesting centers/RCFs that lack or are in need of additional Psychologist/psychometricians or who have no resident psychologist/psychometrician

  9. Ensures compliance of DSWD centers, residential care facilities and FOs to quality assurance mechanisms necessary and relative to pertinent laws such as RA 10029 (Philippine Psychology Act) and Republic Act 11036 (Mental Health Act) and the Department's very own MC 2 series of 2008 (Revitalizing the Role of Psychologist in the DSWD Case Management System)

  10. Performs other related tasks that may be assigned by the immediate supervisor/s.

Job Outputs:

  1. Confirmation Reports on the conducted Technical Assistance to the FO and/or CRCFRs relative to the Helping Strategies: Psychological Services

  2. Feedback Reports/Confirmation Reports on the conducted National Inspectorate Pre-Assessment to the CRCFs relative to the Helping Strategies: Psychological Services

  3. Feedback Reports on the attended trainings, seminars and workshops

  4. Project Proposals

  5. Other technical drafts as instructed by the Division Chief.
