Occupational Health & Safety (Human Resources & Recruitment)
In this role, the Leader of Environmental, Health, Safety and Sustainability for the Philippines will have the authority to define, develop and lead organizational EHS&S solutions throughout the region, including creating Best Practices. This position will partner with the leadership team of the PHILIPPINES to design consistent Environmental, Health, Safety and Sustainability excellence for all sites and work with all levels within the Organization, communicating and driving these programs. This role requires someone who can train, mentor and coach operational teams to strengthen capability and competency
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and Monitor overall general safety and environmental policies and procedures to be followed in compliance with corporate and sector policies and local and country-specific Environmental Protection Agency and Occupational Safety and Health Governmental rules and regulations, and ISO 14001 / 18001 / 9001 systems.
- Work with various businesses and partners to create value through development of innovative solutions to environmental, social and governance challenges
- Designs and leads green and sustainable development across all sites.
- Champions corporate and sector EHS & S initiatives and processes within the Philippines
- Ensures that the direction and expectations within EHS function is maintained
- Manage the Environmental, Health & Safety Framework and track/monitor improvement plans as well as identify and resolve open compliance issues.
- Develop policies and procedures in compliance with all industry and government standards. Promotes and drives strong environmental stewardship programs for the organization.
- Spearhead and oversee BCP implementation on facility level and serve as secondary POC for CWS business continuity management
- Monitor trends and government activity to include new and proposed legislation.
- Inspects, audits and/or tours organization facilities to detect existing or potential environmental and health hazards, and recommends corrective or preventative measures where indicated above.
- Formulates training policies, programs, and schedules, based on knowledge of identified training needs. Selects or develops teaching aids such as training handbooks, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials, and reference works. Conducts training sessions covering specified areas.
QUALIFICATIONS
Proficient with spreadsheets and Microsoft applications
Strong attention to detail and desire to follow procedures
Good decision making and problem solving skills
High customer service orientation and ability to effectively communicate
High level of integrity, honesty and judgment
Ability to operate basic office equipment such as computers, copiers, printers
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
University degree or the equivalent
At least 5 years related experience in Occupational Safety and Health.
SKILLS
- Preferably DOLE Accredited Safety Practitioner and/or Pollution Control Officer
- 5 years related experience in the field of Occupational Safety and Health
- Certified Fire Safety Practitioner
- Skilled in conducting training on environment, health and safety procedures
- Ability to conduct safety investigation and reports
- Ability to prepare written reports on EHS
- Ability to deal with people
- Interpersonal and Coordination Skills including technical writing skills
