Job Description - Human Resources Learning & Development Specialist

Organisational Development (Human Resources & Recruitment)

Job Purpose:
The L&D Specialist plays a critical role in enabling the ongoing, long-term improvement of employees’ skills, enabling them to fulfil their potential in the organization. He/She performs a diverse set of activities with maximum focus on managing the upskilling, reskilling and bringing the organization to its full potential. 

This role will work closely with the Management of L&D/ODD to build capability and drive change across various levels in the organization via deploying relevant constant interventions across all functions. The role would have elements of both planning as well as great focus on execution.

To succeed in this role, one would require knowledge, familiarity and experience on Training delivery and management, competency and behavior assessment, Training Needs Analysis, and major facets of L&D principles, structure and framework. It is an advantage if the candidates can exemplify high interpersonal and business partnering skills, excellent program management and change management skills. 

Main Accountabilities:

  • Is responsible of being a conduit of Sun Life Global Solutions (SLGS) Philippines overall from an L&D standpoint
  • Responsible for managing the training operations and supporting the smooth delivery of annual training plan.
  • Lead the execution and delivery of major L&D learning intervention, upskilling, reskilling and certification of LOMA, PMP, ITIL, CBAP and other certifications, to name a few. 
  • Organizes and manages new hire induction program month on month to ensure that a minimum of 85% new hires attend the induction program in the first 45 days of joining.
  • Work with L&D Head and managers to work on key projects across L&D function as aligned with the goals of Human resources as a whole – with alignment of the goals in SLGS site. 
  • Plan the implementation of activities and events, budget spending, material production and distribution, and other resources to ensure that operations are managed within authorized budgets
  • Manage the online monthly training nominations along with the L&D coordinator to ensure that minimum quorum is met for classroom trainings.
  • Co-ordinate with the training Vendors/partners for smooth functioning and delivery all L&D related programs.
  • Ensure compliance to the internal audit parameters for L&D. 
  • Promote e-learning courses on our global online platform and increase the overall usage of competency based modules across the organization through regular emailers and reminders.
  • Equipped with the understanding and creation of Online Learning Design and Development.
  • Must be able to manage the end-to-end functionality of the Learning Management System of the Sun Life.
  • Must be able skilled on data analysis, managing the Key Performance Indicators of the function. 
  • Support L&D managers in publishing the functional and monthly reports with data trends, areas of opportunity, man days, team wise analysis and learning effectiveness.
  • Drive the training methodology of pre and post training activities, post program connects for key programs. 
  • Liaising with HR Business Partners and people managers to stay updated on needs, collaborative initiatives and shared learning opportunities.
  • Providing a high level of consistent support for administration to L&D coordinator and team members.
  • Prepare training documentation such as training evaluation forms, hand notes for participants, questionnaires and other support materials. Support customization of modules as per the requirements

Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years experience in L&D / OD Trainer within Human Resources
  • Experience in conducting and facilitating trainings in various class sizes with audiences across different levels in the organization
  • Experience working with training vendor partners
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in excel reporting and creating presentations
  • Experience in working on large scale / organization-wide projects
  • Amenable to hybrid work set up
  • Amenable to work on a midshift schedule (but flexible to work on morning shift as required)
