Logistics and Warehouse Head

Job description:

This position is responsible for the planning and managing logistics, warehouse and distribution of supplies and equipment.

Maintains the warehouse area by organizing the floor space, and adhering to safety, convenience, and design principles. Ensures the safety and security of the warehouse by implementing measures that reduce the risk of incidents.

Key Responsibilities:

Inventory Management:

Maintain accurate inventory records through routine cycle counts and audits.

Oversee receiving, storing, and organizing incoming shipments.

Implement efficient inventory control practices to minimize stock discrepancies. Logistics Coordination:

Develop and implement logistics strategies to optimize the supply chain. Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics, including scheduling, routing, and carrier selection.

Ensure timely and cost-effective transportation of goods. Team Leadership:

Recruit, train, and supervise warehouse and logistics staff, including warehouse associates, drivers, and logistics coordinators.

Set performance expectations and provide regular feedback to team members.

Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Quality Control:

Implement quality control processes to ensure the accuracy and condition of products. Manage product returns and handle defective items in compliance with company policies.

Health and Safety:

Enforce safety protocols and standards to create a secure work environment.

Conduct regular safety meetings and training sessions.

Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations. Cost Management:

Monitor and control warehouse and logistics operational costs, including labor, equipment, and supplies.

Identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements.

Reporting and Documentation:

Generate reports on warehouse and logistics performance, including productivity, inventory levels, and transportation metrics.

Maintain accurate documentation of all warehouse and logistics activities. JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelors / College Degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or related field.

At least 5 to 7 years of work experience in the related field is required for this position. Must have a supervisory or managerial role in warehousing and logistics.

Thorough knowledge of current and effective warehouse and logistics operations and practices. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects. Able to work under pressure/with deadlines.
