Job Description - LOGISTICS COORDINATOR

FUNCTIONAL OVERVIEW:

The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and overseeing all aspects of the logistics process for our Clients, including coordination of procurement, transportation, inventory management, tracking of billables and customer service. He/she ensures timely and safe delivery of goods.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Procurement Coordination :

  • Coordinate with the Account Managers and the IT Team to ensure timely procurement of goods and materials and order fulfillment
  • Monitor inventory levels and send reminders to maintain optimal stock levels, as necessary

Transportation Management:

  • Arrange transportation for incoming and outgoing deliveries, including selecting carriers and scheduling deliveries.
  • Track shipments and ensure timely delivery, resolving any issues or delays that may arise.

Inventory Control:

  • Oversee our in house asset management system, tracking receiving, storing, and organizing goods.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy.

Documentation and Compliance

  • Prepare and maintain shipping documents, including bills and customs forms.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations governing transportation and import/export

Customer Service:

  • Serve as the SME for Account Managers regarding shipment inquiries, tracking, and delivery issues.
  • Address customer concerns or complaints to ensure customer satisfaction, as necessary

Process Improvement

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains within the logistics function.
  • Implement and oversee changes to workflows, systems, or procedures to optimize logistics operations.

Other Ad hoc tasks, as required

MINIMUM COMPETENCIES

  • Ability to work with little supervision and track multiple processes
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Attention to detail and a focus on accuracy in all aspects of work
  • Computer-savvy with a working knowledge of logistics software (ERP) is a plus
  • Outstanding organizational and coordination abilities
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience as a logistics coordinator
  • A degree in BSc/BA in business administration, supply chain management or relevant field or any similar courses is an advantage
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (MS Excel, office 365)
