Job Description - Accounting Assistant Manager

The Accounting Assistant Manager plays a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting processes. This position is responsible for supporting the financial statement close cycle and operational accounting functions to ensure timely reporting and compliance with relevant procedures and controls.

Major Accountabilities:

  • Review and verify Accounts Payable vouchers.
  • Oversee the review of weekly check payments to suppliers.
  • Review monthly Sales and Inventory Reports for accuracy and completeness.
  • Conduct regular reviews of Balance Sheet reconciliations.
  • Ensure compliance with all tax returns, including EWT, CWT, FWT, Fringe Benefits Tax, and VAT.
  • Review adjustments and journal entries to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly Profit and Loss statements.
  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly and year-end closings.
  • Collaborate with the Payroll Provider to ensure accuracy of payroll entries and withholding tax computations.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports for management review.
  • Participate in the preparation of yearly budgets, quarterly forecasts, and a 5-year financial plan.
  • Ensure compliance with interim and year-end audit requirements.
  • Prepare Annual Financial Statements for submission to Local Authorities.
  • Prepare Quarterly and Annual Income Tax Returns.
  • Collaborate with NBD (New Business Development) for potential business and line extensions.
  • Analyze Proposed Transfer Prices from existing suppliers.
  • Review Annual Transfer Prices from affiliates.
  • Serve as the System Administrator for SAP B1 and SAP HANA.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy or equivalent.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is required.
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry is required.
  • Minimum of ten years of experience in an accounting role.
  • Strong understanding of accounting practices and taxation requirements.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications, especially MS Excel.
  • Strong analytical and financial reporting skills.
  • Highly organized with keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and respond to both set tasks and ad hoc requests quickly and logically.
  • Previous experience in managing people is preferred.
