Our client, a small grocery store chain specializing in branding and shelf product placement in local stores, offers a stable and supportive environment where honesty and hard work are rewarded. If you are passionate about maintaining accurate financial records and enjoy working in a close-knit team, this opportunity is for you. We're looking for an Accounting Technician who will handle a variety of accounting tasks and ensure the financial health of the company.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update QuickBooks daily to ensure real-time accounting updates.

  • Handle invoices from freight companies, warehouses, and other vendors, including documentation, printing checks, and sending wires.

  • Conduct standard bookkeeping tasks such as journal entries and reconciliations.

  • Ensure accurate data entry, reporting, and analysis of financial transactions.

  • Generate and send detailed reports to management and manufacturers.

  • Work closely with the team supervisor, assisting with part-time tasks related to product management and reporting.

  • Manage and document all financial transactions related to the grocery business, noting the thin margins and need for precision.

  • Supervise a small team for part of the day, ensuring all financial records are meticulously maintained.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance.

  • Proficiency in QuickBooks and Excel.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly report financial data to management.

  • Experience with invoicing, data entry, and generating financial reports.

  • Establish a working understanding of current accounting procedures.

  • Begin managing day-to-day bookkeeping tasks and reconciliations.

  • Start collaborating with cross-functional teams to address financial challenges.

  • Play a proactive role in identifying and implementing financial best practices.
