Job Description - Chief Finance Officer

As the  Chief Finance Officer, you will be responsible for the attainment of the financial objectives of the company and related business drivers by effectively managing and running all the finance activities including financial reporting, tax and regulatory compliance, treasury management, branch support, and accounting, manufacturing accounting, and budgeting.

Ensure adequate controls, financial governance, and policies are in place to safeguard the company’s assets to deter fraud and mitigate potential financial leakages or losses. Manage working capital and credit facility to ensure the liquidity of the company and maintain the cost of working capital or borrowing at a minimum.

Financial Reporting

·Provide leadership, and direction and manage the finance and accounting team.

·Provide strategic recommendations to the chairman, president, and members of the executive management team based on identified opportunities and risks brought about by the financial results.

·Provide thresholds for working capital items (e.g. inventory levels, AR and AP aging standards, etc…) and ensure that utilization is managed within thresholds.

·Provide directions and guidelines for financial reporting, forecasting, and budgets, and oversee the preparation of all financial reports including management reports.

·Establish and develop relations with senior management, external partners, and stakeholders.

·Report to the board/Execom monthly and annual financial reports/results.

·Develop/Produce financial reports to aid management in their business decisions.

Tax & Regulatory Compliance and Internal Controls

·Conduct a periodic review of business and financial risks and provide measures by which the risks can be avoided or mitigated.

·Provide internal controls framework (i.e. adequacy of controls; proper ownership on the execution of the controls; periodic testing of compliance and identifying weaknesses, if any; and enhance control measures as necessary).

·Recommends approval authority guide to ensure that all transaction approvals come with sufficient oversight and level of authority.

·Responsible for full compliance with guidelines and regulations (PFRS, NIRC, and other laws and statutes).

·Ensure that all tax returns are properly reviewed for appropriateness and accuracy prior to filing and payment.

·Ensure that financial reporting systems are properly accredited/approved by the tax authorities and that all mandated forms are used and properly authorized by the BIR and other regulatory bodies.

·Ensure that all SEC filings required, and applicable reports are filed on time and documents are up to date (e.g. board membership, shareholders on record, articles of incorporation and by-laws, etc…).

·Collaborate with external auditors to ensure proper compliance with all reporting regulations and appropriate calculation of annual income tax due.

Administrative/Others

·Provide general oversight in all of the finance functions.

·Motivate and lead team members by clarifying roles, providing directions and objectives, and providing second-level performance reviews to ensure fairness to everyone.

·Suggest updates and improvements for finances as required by changes in business directions and policies.

· Ensure the appropriateness of systems and applications and that there are controls built in within the systems and applications to maintain data integrity and safeguard financial records.

·Ensure that there is a strong succession plan program by identifying key learning and development programs for staff across all levels of the organization.

Planning & Budgeting

·Develop financial models to measure various companies’ programs and activities to ensure proper returns for every investment made.

·Develop budgets and financial plans for the company based on both past performance and forecast of business outcome.

·Work with different department heads on inputs and other budget assumptions.

·Review all actual financial results vs. plans and budgets regularly to look for cost reduction/business improvement opportunities.

·Do budget revisions/forecasts as necessary.

Must-Have:

·Bachelor of Accountancy or equivalent degree.

·At least 10 years of significant work experience in finance of which at least 5 years were spent in a similar capacity or senior management role.

·Solid work experience in manufacturing, retail, and/or direct selling of Home, Personal Care, food, and pharma of similar products preferably gained from an FMCG environment.

·Well-versed with financial reporting standards, LGU financial-related ordinances, and tax and SEC regulations.

·Reliable business partner/financial advisor.

·Proven track record in process and organizational transformation.

·Willing to work onsite for a few months then transition to hybrid with a minimum of 3 days onsite. 

·Willing to work at the company’s HO in Commonwealth Ave., Quezon City with occasional visits to the Sta Rosa, Laguna office and plant.

·Can start working as soon as possible.

·An MBA or CPA is a plus.

·Critical thinker with high attention to detail.

·Experienced in developing employees and an enabler to career advancement.
