Quality Assurance & Control (Manufacturing, Transport & Logistics)

As Health Ssafety Lead –  assists the Sr. Logistics Manager in monitoring occupational health and safety. Provides inputs in the assessment of risks, and in the formulation of strategies to reduce potential hazards within the assigned area or workplace.

As Compliance Lead – ensures that on a day to day basis the company is functioning in alignment with the environmental, legal and ethical guidelines. Responsible for reporting any non-compliance detected on the floor. Helps in coming up with compliance programs, initiates the review of company policies, and advises management on possible risks.

Health, Safety and Compliance Officer responsibilities :

• Inspects the site to ensure it is a hazard-free environment. Monitors and reports hazardous and unsafe situations.
• Recommends measures to assure personnel safety.
• Corrects unsafe acts or conditions through the normal line of authority. May exercise emergency authority to prevent or stop unsafe acts when immediate action is required.
• Maintains awareness of active and developing situations.
• Participates in planning meetings to identify any health and safety concerns inherent in the operations daily work-plan.
• Prepares the Incident Action Plan for safety implications.
• Conducts investigations of all accidents and near-misses that have occurred within incident areas.
• Prepares and leads the implementation of Site Safety and Health Plan (SSHP)
• Conducts huddle meetings on HSC.
• Checks and endorses all sub-contractor’s safety plans to the Logistics Manager for approval.
• Verifies that injury logs and reports are completed and submitted to related government agencies.
• Verifies that all tools and equipment are adequate and safe for use.
• Promotes safe practices at the job site and enforces safety guidelines.
• Trains and carries out drills and exercises on how to manage emergency situations.
• Conducts job hazard analysis and provides recommendations to Logistics Manager.
• Drafts safety standards and policies as needed.
• Responds to employees’ safety concerns.
• Coordinates registration and removal of hazardous waste.
• Supports the development of OHS policies and programs.
• Advises and instructs on various safety-related topics (noise levels, use of machinery etc.).
• Initiates and organizes OHS training of employees and executives.
• Oversees installations, maintenance, disposal of substances etc.
• Prepares reports on occurrences and provides statistical information to upper management.
• Handles/covers other HSC related concerns.

COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS:

• KNOWLEDGE:
• Must have undergone basic training on OSH.
• Familiarity with Philippine Environmental Laws and Regulations.
• Familiarity with Occupational Health and Safety and Environmental Management Systems
• Familiarity in facilitating solid waste disposal, hazardous waste including emergency response.
• Familiarity in facilitating ambient test, Stack Emission Test, water sampling, monitoring sewage treatment. 
• Use of MS Applications proficiently
• Use of statistical analysis tools
• SKILLS:
• Must be detail-oriented with strong critical thinking skills who assess risks and creates reports to protect workers within the facility against health, safety, and environmental dangers. 
• Communication skills– must have adequate written communication skills to create reports and training materials, and verbal communication skills to delegate tasks to other members of the organization.
• Organization skills– excellent organization skills to manage multiple safety projects and analyze multiple studies at once.
• Analytical thinking– good analytical skills and the ability to think critically to analyze data and compile it into usable material and reports.
• Public speaking– excellent public speaking skills to give presentations and present oral reports regarding health, safety, and environmental hazards within a specific workplace.
• Leadership–Effectively uses leadership skills to manage other health, safety, and environment staff members and assign them specific investigative tasks.

Qualification:

• Bachelor's Degree graduate of Environmental Engineering, Medical Technology, Occupational Health and Safety related course.
• With atleast 2 years' experience as HSE Officer; SO2 Level; PCO Accreditation; Preferably with FMCG or CPG Industry
• Proficient in MS Applications especially excel.
• Knowledgeable and familiar with OSHA, LLDA & DENR requirements.
• Willing to be assigned in Novaliches Area
