Job Description - Parts Inventory Specialist

Parts Inventory Specialist (After Sales)

Purchasing, Procurement & Inventory (Manufacturing, Transport & Logistics)

The Aftersales Parts Inventory Specialist is responsible for administering the warehouse operation that is being managed by 3rd party logistics (3PL). He ensures proper warehousing and inventory control of parts and other materials/items are being done by the 3PL. He also checks and analyzes the warehouse space utilization and ensures that the KPI set for warehouse management is being met. Perform parts and accessories ordering from NPI suppliers

JOB FUNCTION:

  • Ensure effective utilization of warehouse areas/storage. 
  • Confirm that the 3PL observes proper loading, unloading, binning/stocking and safekeeping of items to maintain the quality of parts/material/items in order to prevent product damage and avoid occurrence of pilferage, accidents and occupational hazards.
  • Attend and resolves dealer’s issues on parts packaging and delivery dispatch
  • Do 5S audit and Gemba walk together with the 3PL
  • Do random audit for proper parts binning and min/max inventory level
  • Ensure parts inventory accuracy against system record by conducting cycle counts on a periodic basis following Physical Inventory Count Procedure
  • Evaluate and analyze inventory variance. Implements preventive countermeasures based on the result of the inventory count analysis together with the 3PL and After Sales Department
  • Manage storage of parts & accessories with shelf-life
  • Control issuance/release of “Hold” regulated parts
  • Manage and assess trucking capacity and efficiency 
  • Ensure the trucking service provider delivers the right parts, at right place, and at right time 
  • Establish countermeasure for the dealer delivery related concerns
  • Process claims for damaged parts/materials due to 3PL
  • Drive improvement solutions and cost reductions/savings in warehouse management and delivery to dealers
  • Monitor and make sure that the 3PL met the set KPIs
  • Generate warehouse metric report
  • Other related duties and responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time.
  • Be NPI’s Pollution Control Officer to handle, manage hazardous wastes produced by NPI.
