Job Description

As a Reinforcement Steel Detailer , you will play a pivotal role in providing estimations and detailing that align with customer requirements, ensuring adherence to quality standards and timely project completion. This position is integral to supporting construction and infrastructure projects, where your expertise will be instrumental in meeting the specific needs of clients.

Shift: Day Shift , Mon - Fri 06:00 AM - 03:00 PM

Work Setup: Onsite, Eastwood

Credentials That Speak Volumes:

• 3+ civil engineering preferred (or overseas equivalent)
  
• At least 3+ years construction industry experience in large construction and infrastructure projects.
  
• Construction/mechanical trade certification preferred.
  
• Proven understanding of best practice for concrete and reinforcing placement.
  
• Basic project management and proven organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize work effectively.
  
• Demonstrable proficiency with understanding of structural drawings. Must be able to explain methodology and reinforcing steel layout required.
  
• Understanding of costing and practical skills and proficiency in mathematics and dimensional calculations which translates to accuracy and measurement.
  
• Proven ability to detail reinforcing steel and mesh for production to meet relevant New Zealand Standards.
  
• Proven knowledge and understanding of associated New Zealand Standards within the construction industry.
  
• Proven negotiation skills, problem-solving techniques and ability to handle situations under pressure.
  
• Good understanding of relevant health and safety legislation, codes of practice, policies, and procedures - particularly in a construction environment.
  

Shouldering Excellence: Your Role Defined

• Provide estimations and detailing to meet customer requirements and ensure quality standards and timeframes are met. This role primarily supports construction and infrastructure projects.
  
• Review contract documentation ensuring that the plans, specifications, and pricing provide a comprehensive scope of the required building.
  
• Compute costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements to ensure profit margins are achieved and within agreed timeframes.
  
• Formulate material orders and initiate the procurement of these orders and ensure on-time delivery.
  
• Produce accurate quotes and supporting documents to meet customer requirements in agreed timeframe.
  
• Provide accurate and detailed documentation, along with any supporting information, in a timely manner through performing routine and complex detailing activities.
  
• Identify variations and communicate with solution to client before any issues arise.
  
• Communicate effectively with the project manager, site staff, and others, including external parties.
  
• Compile information and documentation and process invoices and monthly claims within systems and present to clients.
  
• Maintain costs to complete each project and escalate any variations in a timely manner.
  
• Provide guidance and leadership to other detailers as required.
  
• Comply with Euro Corporation's policies, standards, and procedures.
  
• Assist in maintaining a healthy and safe working environment wherever work is being performed.
  
• Work in a manner that will not endanger yourself or others.
  
• Make proper use of all safety devices and personal protective equipment provided.
  
• Be familiar with emergency and evacuation procedures.
  
• Report all incidents, near misses, and injuries immediately.
  
• Actively co-operate with any rehabilitation program that is arranged to assist recovery from injury for yourself or for fellow employees.
