Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Verification Planning: Collaborate with design and architecture teams to develop verification plans, test strategies, and coverage goals for mixed-signal IC designs, ensuring alignment with design specifications and performance targets.
- Testbench Development: Design and implement verification environments, including analog and digital testbenches, behavioral models, and test vectors, using industry-standard verification languages and methodologies.
- Simulation and Emulation: Perform functional verification of mixed-signal circuits using simulation tools such as Cadence Virtuoso, Synopsys VCS, or Mentor Questa, and utilize emulation platforms for hardware acceleration of verification tasks.
- Mixed-Signal Verification: Develop and execute testcases to verify analog and digital functionality, analog-to-digital converter (ADC) and digital-to-analog converter (DAC) performance, clock domain crossing (CDC), and interface protocols in mixed-signal IC designs.
- Coverage Analysis: Analyze coverage metrics, including code coverage, functional coverage, and assertion coverage, to assess verification completeness and identify areas for improvement in verification strategy.
- Regression Testing: Manage regression test suites, automate verification tasks, and maintain regression environments to ensure efficient and thorough verification of design changes and updates.
- Debugging and Root Cause Analysis: Debug verification failures, identify root causes of issues, and work closely with design and validation teams to resolve issues and implement design fixes.
- Tool Development: Develop verification infrastructure, utilities, and scripts to improve verification productivity, automate verification tasks, and enhance verification methodologies.
- Documentation: Prepare and maintain detailed verification documentation, including verification plans, testcases, coverage reports, and verification sign-off documents, ensuring traceability and compliance with industry standards.
- Mentorship and Leadership: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior verification engineers, contribute to team training and skill development initiatives, and lead by example in adopting best practices and methodologies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in mixed-signal IC verification, preferably in a semiconductor or integrated circuit design company.
- Proficiency in verification methodologies and tools for mixed-signal ICs, including analog behavioral modeling, digital verification languages (e.g., SystemVerilog), and mixed-signal simulation environments.
- Hands-on experience with simulation tools such as Cadence Virtuoso, Synopsys VCS, Mentor Questa, or similar tools.
- Strong understanding of analog and digital circuit design principles, including signal integrity, noise analysis, and timing constraints.
- Experience with coverage-driven verification methodologies, constrained random testing, and assertion-based verification.
