The Technical Content Writer will be responsible for developing marketing assets that will be published across multiple media channels to drive engagement with professionals in the backup power industry. This content will describe the company’s offers. It will also educate readers and audiences about the benefits of the technologies, standards, and applications that solve power challenges that face facilities today.

Job Description:

• Write attractive English-language copy for a wide variety of media, including digital ads, public relations materials, website content, social media, infographics, video scripts, technical papers, blogs, etc.
• Produce content that makes technical concepts easily understood by people who design, sell, install, and use electrical systems
• Simplify technical concepts to focus on the value that solutions bring to a range of stakeholders
• Work in a team to brainstorm new creative concepts driven by exciting headlines
• Translate technical jargon into engaging, benefit-driven copy
• Create copy and content to promote existing and new products
• Proofread and edit content for publication
• Write blog articles, sales collateral, and synopses for company-related events

· Assign effective metadata and develop social media posts to enhance SEO value

· Publish relevant social content to optimize visibility and increase engagement

• Work closely with the lead technical writer and with the social media, web, and design team for daily tasks

· Assist in research and analysis to identify trends that concern our audiences

· Work with cross-functional teams to ensure media quality and credibility

Qualifications:

· A four-year science, engineering, or technical degree, with education in writing, communications, or business management preferred

· Ability to organize technical content in ways that can be understood by technical and non-technical audiences alike.

· Demonstrable experience creating documents that develop conclusions based on technical or scientific data

· Demonstrable competencies in storytelling, writing, copyediting, and proofreading, Candidates with a portfolio of viewable work a plus.

· Ability to review and understand industry standards and technical regulations used by the professionals who design, sell, install, and operate systems

· Ability to conceptualize and describe sketches, diagrams, and infographics for subsequent creation by graphic artists

· Power industry experience is a strong plus

· Experience in one or more of the following areas is a plus:

o Project management in electrical power, telecommunications, facility operations, or a similar field driven by compliance with codes or regulations ,
OR

o B2B technical and customer support for an organization that manufacturers or sells electrical devices or similar equipment
OR

o Authoring and delivering technical instruction to engineers, scientists, and/or technicians

·“Tools-in-hand” experience and technical problem-solving skills are each a strong plus

· Interest in or familiarity with emerging energy technologies – solar, battery storage, etc. – a plus

· Ability to comprehend electrical drawings, a strong plus

· Excellent English communication skills

· Strong time-management skills

· Creative thinker who develops “out-of-the-box” solutions

· Must have a passion for storytelling and sharing ideas with people
