About the Client:

The client is a contracting company that undertakes a broad range of civil/utilities throughout the Sydney area and surrounding areas. They also have a Non-Destructive excavation service division which provides an immediate response to their clients’ needs while providing the most technically advanced equipment available.

We are looking for a diligent Estimator to prepare accurate estimates for projects by gathering information and analyzing important metrics. You will provide knowledge of costs and benefits that support profitable business decisions.

• Understand the project/program and its requirements.
• Determine key variables for cost and other estimates.
• Conduct regular risk assessments.
• Oversee the different stages of a company project to ensure that expenses follow the forecast plan.
• Interpreting drawings, relevant specifications, and reports.
• Preparing take-offs, itemizing, sending to and liaising with suppliers, and putting together a complete and compliant quote.

Requirements

• 5 years of experience as an Estimator or related role in an Australian company
• Experience in cost estimating and other software related to the field. (MS Excel, Tender link, Asana, etc.)
• Strong Background in Excavation Projects such as roads, car parks, etc.
• Experience in interpreting and analyzing project specifications, drawings, and PPR.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to read and understand architectural and structural drawings.
• Experience working in the construction, engineering or architectural industry is a plus.
• Knowledge of relevant building codes and regulations
