BASIC FUNCTION
Position Overview
The position is responsible for the end to end accounting function for the New Zealand business unit (including related audit request), APAC Microsoft Chip revenue accounting and analysis, Manages Lease Accounting and marketing fundings for APAC, Quarter end and year end responsibilities.
The Accountant Lead position ensures all tasks performed comply with Insight’s Policies and Procedures.
What you’ll do at Insight:
• Full accounting function for the NZ business unit (journals, variance analysis, SOX, tax, statutory accounts)
• Responsible for APAC MS Chip report and Azure consumption. Maintenance of commissionable vs non-commissionable
matrix and ensuring accurate and timely accounting and analysis
• Preparation of Quarter end US submission schedules
• Various month-end and quarter-end responsibilities that ensure the timely and accurate closure of month-end / quarter-end in accordance with various USGAAP /SOX requirements
• Ownership of lease accounting for APAC region and maintenance of Visual Lease platform
• Managing the process of new bank guarantee requirements
• Responsible for APAC marketing funding accounting
• Responsible for rebate accounting for APAC
• Preparing and analyzing monthly sales analysis, liaising with sales managers to solve errors, post adjustments
• Balance Sheet Reconciliations and journals
What you’ll need to join Insight:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field
- CPA / CA qualification
- Minimum 8 years experience in a Financial Accounting role with relevant accounting experience aligned with the above responsibilities
- Must have the ability to identify balance sheet errors and improper or misclassified operating expense activity
- Must have the ability to document the purpose of a given journal entry
- Must have the ability to articulate operating expense fluctuations through written communication
- Must have advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- SAP accounting system knowledge highly desirable
