Accounting Officer

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Assist the accounting head in monitoring all accounting transaction for the day seeing to it that they are timely and peoperly addressed.
2. Ascertain that payables are prepared according to scheduled date of payment before they become due to aviod penalties.
   1. Importation matters
   2. Bank Loans & Interest
   3. Local Suppliers
   4. Light and power
   5. Communications
   6. Other payables
3. Conduct regular inspection/review of hardcopy subdidiary ledgers for payables seeing to it that it is updated daily.
4. On monthly basis, review/verity accounting records particularly on approved vouchers seeing to it it is intact the supporting documents and placed in a secured area to aviod tampering.
5. Act as reliever of accounting staff in their absence.
6. Assist in the preparation of a/p entries when the need arises.
7. Reconcile entries per books vs. sister companies.
8. Assist in the preparation of monthly tax remittences of MTEI and sister companies for submission to external audithor if necessary.
9. Counter-check the works of the Accounts Payable Staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Graduate of BS Accountancy or any related field

Preferable with at least 2-year experience

Advanced computer skills

Knowlegeable in SAP database or QuickBooks

High attention to details and excellent analytical skills
