BASIC FUNCTION

Position Overview

The Accounts Payable Team Leader is responsible for supervising the Accounts Payable team, and for ensuring accurate payments are made to vendors within agreed contract terms, and in accordance with financial regulations and policies. The Accounts Payable Team Leader liaises closely with relevant parties in order to relay financial advice, guidance, and analysis to internal/external stakeholders

What you'll do at Insight

• Supervise and motivate the team, to promote teammate satisfaction through mentoring, development, and career planning; creating a high performing team with a strong succession benchmark, enabling career progression
• Ensure incoming vendor invoices match Insight’s purchase orders and arrange payments to vendors in line with agreed terms
• Oversee all ledgers and ensure vendors are paid on time
• Lead the smooth operation of payment runs, conduct adequate checks to ensure that payments are made to the correct vendors, and approve all payments raised by the Accounts Payable Analyst
• Deliver advice and guidance on financial transactions, monitor the volume of outstanding queries, and resolve all escalated matters in a timely manner
• To lead month end processes by:
  − ensuring vendor accounts are reconciled against vendor statements in compliance with Insight’s control policy,
  − administering and supporting the reconciliation of the payments bank account and other relevant control accounts,
  − posting, managing, and correcting errors with appropriate authorisation,
  − and completing year end activity to agreed deadlines
• Authorise and approve the setup of new vendors, agree new payment terms, and enter payment terms into system using set criteria
• Be proactive in managing the ‘goods received but not invoiced’ (GRNI) account and aging report, raise late payments, chase vendors for invoices/late credits and ensure payments are processed on time
• Collaborate with the Accounts Payable Manager in order to review and suggest improvements to accounting systems and reconciliation processes and procedures, in accordance with accounting financial regulations and best practice
• Develop and articulate financial reports, provide regular reporting on key performance indicators (KPI’s) as agreed upon by management
• Process intercompany invoices in a timely manner and check all credit notes received by the RMA Analyst
• Ensure compliance with relevant audits, regulations, and legislation by determining the impact of any changes and taking required action where necessary
• Ensure the team continues to provide excellent client service by managing and maintaining good working relationships with internal/external stakeholder and key vendors
• Assist the Accounts Payable Manager with closing the books quarterly, and process goods received and invoiced (GR&I) vendor return ledgers, and vendor returns.

What you'll need to join Insight

• Undergrad or Bachelor's degree of Finance/Accounting or any related courses
• Demonstrates relevant accounts payable knowledge and can demonstrate experience of working with control account reconciliations
• SAP Experience
• Fully conversant with Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, and Word)
• Willing to work on a midshift
• Good working knowledge of computerised accounting systems
