Position Overview

The Accounts Payable Team Lead oversees day-to-day operations of the AP function, ensuring accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices and payments. This role plays a key part in managing the invoice queue via AppZen’s autonomous AP platform, monitoring exceptions, driving compliance, and ensuring a smooth payment cycle. The Team Lead also supports audit, process improvements, and team performance development.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the daily operations of the Accounts Payable team and serve as subject matter expert on the end-to-end invoice process.
• Manage and oversee the AppZen invoice queue, including manual hold resolution and exception management.
• Prepare and execute weekly and ad-hoc payment runs, validate payment proposals, review banking details, and coordinate with Treasury for timely disbursement.
• Monitor AP aging reports and follow up on outstanding items and holds.
• Act as the point of escalation for invoice/payment discrepancies and resolve supplier queries.
• Identify root causes of recurring exceptions and initiate corrective action plans.
• Lead AP month-end close tasks, prepare accruals and support reporting requirements.
• Prepare documentation and responses for audit requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives, especially related to automation and exception reduction via AppZen.
• Coach, develop, and evaluate performance of direct report, fostering a culture of accountability and process ownership.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3–5 years of progressive AP experience, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory/lead capacity.
• Hands-on experience with AppZen or similar AP automation tools is an advantage
• Strong understanding of invoice lifecycle, PO/non-PO processing, and VAT/withholding tax handling.
• Experience in Netsuite ERP systems preferred
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Background in a shared services/BPO or multinational environment.
