Position Overview

The position focuses on general ledger corporate accounting and analysis (with particular focus on operating expenses) and reports to the Accounts Payable Manager.

What you will be doing at Insight:

• Efficiently prepare and document journal entries and reconciliations relating to balance sheet accounts that affect operating expenses.
• Drive the month end close and consolidation process through collaboration and coordination with functional business department owners and corporate accounting personnel.
• Applying the principles of generally accepted accounting principles to analyze and describe balance sheet and operating expense fluctuations relating to distinct business departments.
• Assist with internal and external audit requests related to responsibilities.
• Identify and drive continuous process improvement efforts.
• Various ad-hoc analysis and special projects as assigned.
• Build and maintain proactive relationships with associated teams, clients, and vendors
• Ensure AP is compliant with identified key controls, SOX requirements, Accounting, and other Insight policies
• Support all internal and external audits related to Accounts Payable
• Adhere to tight AP month end close schedules including preparation and review of accruals, GL account reconciliations, variance analysis, cleanliness of AP sub ledger and financial reporting for senior management
• Identify, recommend, and implement opportunities for process improvements
• Other responsibilities as assigned

What you will need to work at Insight:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
• 2 years of experience in corporate / GL accounting function.
• Prior experience with SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, or similar ERPs
• Strong working experience and knowledge of SOX control concepts recommended.

• Ability to identify balance sheet errors and improper or misclassified operating expense activity.
• Ability to document the purpose of a given journal entry.
• Ability to articulate operating expense fluctuations through written communication.
• Experience manipulating and analyzing large volumes of data.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to communicate effectively with various organizational levels.
• Ability to work flexible hours as needed.
• Effectively work in a team-environment.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a deadline orientated environment.
• General knowledge of information technology (networks, operating systems, business applications, web technology, databases).
• Advanced MS Excel skills.
• CPA, CMA a plus.
• Experience working for a publicly held company
• Must be highly organized as well as analytical, self-motivated and work well in a highly collaborative team environment
• Able to work under pressure, plan and problem solve
• Must possess a willingness to learn and grow to meet the changing requirements of a Fortune 500 company
