Application Support Engineer

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide application support and initial triage of all tickets (issues/requests) escalated to the Application Support Team.
• Manage and maintain applications and integrations across systems and environments.
• Maintain and regularly update technical documentation, including SOPs, knowledge bases, and infrastructure diagrams.
• Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to identify, triage, and resolve technical issues involving both application and database layers.
• Ensure all support activities follow ITIL processes and best practices.
• Coordinate with local and global teams for escalations and system changes.
• Deliver end-user and internal team training for application and database usage.
• Assist in the planning and execution of maintenance windows, database upgrades, and patching schedules.
• Develop ad-hoc and scheduled reports for various departments, leveraging SQL queries and reporting tools.
   

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years' experience in Application Support, ideally with a background in Database Administration.
• Hands-on experience administering MariaDB and Microsoft SQL Server is preferred
• Familiarity with ITIL frameworks and ticket management systems.
• Solid knowledge of IT hardware, software, and troubleshooting methodologies.
• Strong understanding of Cloud Infrastructure (e.g., AWS EC2, VPC, Amazon Linux AMI).
• Proficient in both Windows and Linux environments, including log analysis and basic shell scripting.
• Experience with API support, including request testing and error analysis.
• Exposure to Docker containers and orchestration is a plus.
• Basic scripting or automation knowledge using Shell, Python, or similar technologies is a plus
