Job Description - Area Sales Manager

Job Purpose:




The Area Sales Manager is primarily responsible for supporting the Business Unit Head for Medtech- Specialty and BD in planning, organizing, and executing the business objectives of the team in alignment with Becton Dickinson (BD) Business Partner, to optimize sales and realize mutually profitable and sustainable growth.




The role conducts regular analysis of the market and BD’s business and formulates strategies to achieve agreed goals and KPIs. He / She regularly liaises with internal stakeholders and BD to ensure operational excellence and provide value added service, consequently building positive business relations with them.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:



FINANCIAL AND COMMERCIAL



  • Analyzes, develops, maintains, manages, and ensures profitable business results for BD’s products and coordinates with Finance for strict P&L monitoring and compliance.



SERVICE LEVEL



  • Engages and develops mutually beneficial business relationships with Business Partners, clients, customers, and colleagues to ensure a positive working environment, visits customers/clients regularly to gather feedback on client services and market/trade conditions and helps seek out new opportunities to further business growth.



BUSINESS PLANNING & SALES/MARKETING SUPPORT



  • Coordinates Sales targets and conceptualizes, documents, ensures proactive implementation and evaluation of Marketing and Business Plans and activities as well as ensures the achievement of sales, management of A&P, brand growth, market share target, and profitability and merchandising objectives of assigned brand/s or product/s within budget and schedules, prepares, coordinates, and executes Business Reviews with all parties involved.



FORECASTING & DEMAND PLANNING



  • Provides forecasts, monitors availability of stocks/promotional items and employs proper inventory management practices.


 


 


TRAINING



  • Provides product training to the field force and relevant parties, where applicable.


 


INTERNAL COLLABORATION



  • Coordinates FDA requirements, where applicable, with Business Partners and the Regulatory team/s, complies with the reportorial requirements, continuously improves oneself through self-study and/or company sponsored seminars or in-house training, when available.

  • Always maintains proper decorum to uphold the good image of the company and promote goodwill including adherence to the implementation of quality policy, functional objectives and process goals.


 


QUALIFICATIONS:





  • Graduate of a four (4) year Business related course, preferably Marketing or Business Administration. A Master’s degree or units is an added advantage.

  • Minimum three (5) years working experience in Sales, Marketing, Client Management, preferably in a Pharma/Consumer Healthcare, Medical Devices or Distribution set up.

  • Client/Customer Management, Marketing/Brand Management.
