Assistant Accountant

Hi! We’re Smartsourcing, looking for an Assistant Accountant who can work with us full-time and on-site!

Where?📍 Crown 7 Business Centre, Pope John Paul II Ave, Cebu City, Cebu

As an Assistant Accountant , you will play a key role in supporting our client’s finance department with various tasks related to financial record-keeping and reporting. This position is ideal for an individual with a strong aptitude for numbers and a passion for contributing to the success of a dynamic organisation.

Some of the things we expect you to do are to:

• Financial reporting – month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, sub-ledger reconciliations, journal preparation, entry of payables and receivables, and bank reconciliations. 
• Payroll – assist in the preparation of fortnightly and monthly payroll 5% 
• Asset Management – assist the Financial Controller in maintaining the entities asset register as required, as well as maintenance of the vehicle register
• Day-to-day accounting and administration functions
• Invoicing of sponsors and Academy players 

Requirements

We would need you to be or have the following:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA is a huge plus but not essential
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a fast-paced retail environment
• Strong understanding of financial reporting standards
• Proficiency in accounting software (Xero) and Microsoft Excel (Advance); experience with other ERP systems is a plus
• Experience with payroll processing software and knowledge of (Australian) payroll regulations and compliance
• Excellent analytical skills with keen attention to detail
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional and cross borders teams
• Highly organized and proactive, demonstrating a strong work ethic and a willingness to take initiative to streamline processes
