Job Description - Assistant Operations Supervisor

JOB SUMMARY

  • Responsible for the smooth operation of the specific section in a department such that all associates and merchandisers consistently execute their respective tasks towards the attainment of the department sales target.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Customer Service

  • Prepares area of the assignment before the store opens to the public. Checks lighting, cleanliness of the area, and display modules and sees to it that the merchandise is properly arranged within their display cases, racks, and shelves.
  • Does the orientation, and scheduling shift/work assignments to ensure efficient service at all times.
  • Trains SA’s/Promos so they are fully equipped with selling skills and are familiar with the company’s G Way Principles & policies.
  • Attends the customers’ needs and sees to it that the customers are given prompt, fast, and efficient service by Sales Associates and promo personnel.
  • Merchandising
  • Assists and coordinates with the Category Heads regarding movement and assortment of stocks on display, inventory, and other merchandising concerns.
  • Provides product knowledge to SA’s/Promos to enhance customer service.
  • Assists in the display of the merchandise and requests visuals for promotional projects and events.
  • Prepares and submits reports, feedback, and suggestions related to merchandise and incidents that need immediate attention and action by the Senior Buyer and Floor Head.
  • Reviews damaged merchandise reports before transferring to another location.
  • Security and Safety
  • Sees to it that merchandise is properly displayed, arranged, and stored to avoid damages and shoplifting incidents.
  • Monitors merchandise’s expiration date and ensure that stocks are pulled out one week before being expired.
  • Coordinates with the Safety and Security unit in maintaining safety and security conditions in the assigned area of responsibility: zero injuries, zero stealing incidents, etc.
  • Shares in the accountability of losses of merchandise and fixtures in the assigned area.

Administrative

  • Monitors the posting and attendance of employees; in coordination with HR Timekeeping, adjust the work schedules of concerned employees in his/her section (day off, duty rest, lunch/meal breaks, rest day, shifting, etc that is related to time schedule) to cope with the requirements for efficient operations.
  • Recommends to Category Head disciplinary measures deemed necessary erring employees based on the disciplinary actions to maintain excellent customer relations.
  • Ensures the consistent compliance of employees to company rules and regulations, standards, policies, and procedures to ensure a high level of performance.
  • Maintains discipline and uplifts the morale of personnel supervised.
  • Evaluates employees' performance; discuss the results of the evaluations with the concerned employee and recommend areas for improvement; recommend approval of the employees for promotion, transfer, etc.; and instill discipline
  • Report to the Category Head – a. Overtime, undertime, and hiring of seasonal or replacement of personnel as needed. b. Disciplinary action for erring employees. c. Clearance processing and other promo personnel concerns.
  • Ensures that SA’s and promos are well-groomed and wear proper uniforms before entering the selling area.
  • Monitors and reviews submission of Plan Order forms by SA’s and merchandisers before turning them over to Category Heads.
  • Performs other functions that may be assigned by the superior as the need arises.

JOB SPECIFICATION

  • Candidate must possess at least Bachelor's/College Degree in any field.
  • At least 1 Year of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
  • Preferably 3-5 Yrs experience employee specialized in Sales - Retail/General or equivalent.
  • Has the ability to carry out effective customer service.
  • Has the aptitude for management and marketing strategies.
  • Goal-oriented and can work well under pressure.
  • Has time management skills.
  • Flexible
  • Good written and verbal communications skills
  • Working knowledge of MS Applications
  • Has leadership ability.
