Audit Manager - Amanpulo

Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Audit Manager to lead and oversee the audit function. Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that all financial transactions, operational processes, and resource utilization within the resort comply with internal policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. They provide assurance to management that risks are identified and mitigated, and that resources are used efficiently to achieve business objectives.

Responsibilities

• Review revenue streams (room bookings, F&B, spa, events) for accuracy and completeness.
• Verify cash handling procedures and reconcile daily reports.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations.

• Assess efficiency of departments such as front office, housekeeping, food & beverage, and maintenance.
• Check adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) for guest services and safety.

• Monitor compliance with local laws, health and safety regulations, and environmental standards.
• Identify operational risks (e.g., fraud, theft, wastage) and recommend preventive measures.

• Audit procurement processes for transparency and cost-effectiveness.
• Verify inventory management for supplies, food, beverages, and amenities.

• Develop and strengthen internal control systems to prevent financial leakage.
• Train staff on compliance and ethical practices.

• Prepare audit reports with actionable recommendations for management.
• Follow up on implementation of corrective actions.
• Conducting detailed monthly and/or quarterly reconciliations for various balance sheet accounts, such as cash/bank statements, accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets, and inter-company accounts.
• Investigating and explaining discrepancies or variances between the general ledger and supporting documentation (e.g., invoices, bank statements) and resolving them in a timely manner.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CIA certification preferred).
• Has Financial External Audit Experience
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in auditing, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
• Strong knowledge of internal controls, risk management, and compliance standards.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and lead a team effectively.
