Backend Software Engineer

Courtly is hiring a junior to mid-level backend engineer to join our foundational technology and product team. This is a mission-critical role that will have significant ownership of our codebase and digital experience.

Responsibilities

• Closely work with the senior engineers to build impactful back end systems from the ground up

• Compile and analyze data, processes, and codebase to troubleshoot problems and identify areas for improvement.

• Attend weekly syncs with the founding team of Courtly to assess prioritizations of projects and tasks

• Write proper documentation for future engineers to quickly learn the codebase

• Taking lead on projects, as needed.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional experience as a software engineer building a consumer-facing applications

• MySQL Experience required

• Computer Science degree preferred

• Experience working in an agile software development environment

• Experience with being a part of a distributed engineering team

• Has built projects in the past using the Jamstack

Plus points if you have any experience with the following:

• GraphQL

• Restful Web Service

• API Integration

• AWS

• Stripe
