Buyer, Procurement

• Purchase order management. Support the Procurement Supervisor in identifying the need for and entering new purchase orders.
  
• Manage the re-order process on time. Enter and process purchase orders accurately.
  
• Researching potential vendors.
  
• Interact with suppliers to ensure high quality, competitive cost, and on-time delivery by utilizing RFI, RFP, and RFQ.
  
• Evaluate offers from vendors and negotiate better prices.
  
• Prepare cost analyses.
  
• Ensure timely delivery of new products and re-orders.
  
• Identify replenishment problems and resolve them effectively. Make adjustments to store assortments based on inventory and delivery timing.
  
• Maintain professional and effective vendor communications and relationships.
  
• Respond to vendor requests/inquiries on time.
  
• Distribute and enforce vendor compliance standards.
  
• Review with management to identify growth opportunities and strategies for dealing with problem areas.
  
• Assist in identifying new and existing market trends that can be profitably adapted to support the individual brands/properties.
  
• Perform regular competitive shopping trips and report findings to management and other buyers.
  
• Attend relevant trade shows when necessary.
  

Requirements

• College degree in a related field, preferably in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or comparable years of experience.
  
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in project management, procurement, and strategic sourcing as a buyer.
  
• Proficiency in procurement software and tools (Ariba, Check SCM, BirtchStreet, SAP, etc.)
  
• Demonstrated ability to multitask and prioritize activities.
  
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  
• Strong math skills.
