Category Specialist

Ensure accurate product and service classification, maintain data quality, and support effective category management through taxonomy and classification alignment.

• Maintaining accurate product/service classification and taxonomy (e.g., IMPA codes).
• Ensuring data quality and compliance with classification standards.
• Collaborating with strategy and procurement to align classification with business needs.
• Analyzing market trends, pricing, supply risks, and geographic opportunities.
• Supporting procurement systems with accurate category data.
• Assisting in supplier and product data updates.
• Identifying gaps or inconsistencies in classification data.
• Training internal stakeholders on classification standards.
• Supporting category reporting requirements.
• Participating in category improvement initiatives.

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Management, or related field.
• Knowledge of industry classification systems (e.g., UNSPSC, IMPA codes) is an advantage.
• Minimum 5 years total work experience in procurement operations, data management, or category support.
• At least 2 years in a data or classification-focused role.
• Experience in data quality assurance and taxonomy maintenance.
• Data integrity and classification management.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to interpret and apply classification standards.
• Collaboration and communication skills.
• Basic market and supplier data analysis
