The Credit Support Specialist role will review and analyze financial statements and credit loan agreements of Business Banking customers and provide support to risk.
The role requires credit knowledge with the ability to meet efficiency, quality, and compliance standards. The candidate may be assigned ad hoc tasks and a pipeline of more complex deals for processing as needed.
Core Responsibilities:
- Perform review of financial statements and legal documents.
- Loan application set-up & perform covenant calculation monitoring support and system updates.
- Ensure compliance to credit agreement through analysis of financial and non-financial information.
- Make decisions on waivers and/or amendment of loan agreements as well as recognize / report early warning signs due to “out of compliance” events.
- Identify and communicate issues found in borrower loan agreements, financial statements, and covenant compliance, as applicable.
- Create annual certification change request as per requirements.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or other financial & business related degree
- Preferably with 1-2 yrs Credit background
- Ability to read and interpret loan and legal documents
- With accounting knowledge to interpret/analyze the impact of different accounting policies and statement formats on financial covenant calculations with ability to identify inadequacies and irregularities
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in oral and written English communication required
- Strong client focus and ability to partner with various internal groups
- Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail
